Yes! The Tihany trail is beginner-friendly with gentle slopes and well-marked paths. It’s perfect for anyone who enjoys walking in nature therefore no special experience needed.
Absolutely! You can visit the Tihany Abbey, Lavender House Visitor Centre, or lavender fields — all within walking distance of the trail.
We recommend wearing comfortable hiking boots or sturdy shoes, as some parts of the trail can be rocky or uneven. Bring a raincoat or warm clothes, depending on the season, since the weather around Lake Balaton can change quickly.
Don’t forget water, sandwiches or snacks, and of course, a camera to capture the beautiful views of Tihany and the lake!
There are public restrooms in Tihany village before you start the hike. There are no toilets directly along the trail, so plan ahead.
