This Privacy Policy explains how DarkSkyAdventures.hu (hereinafter: “we”, “our”, or “the Service”) collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal data, and what rights you have regarding your information.
Our processing of personal data complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU 2016/679) (“GDPR”) and the relevant Hungarian data protection legislation.
1. Data we collect and how we obtain it
We collect personal data in the following main ways:
a) Newsletter subscription
Data collected: name, email address.
Source: data provided by you through the subscription form.
Purpose: to send newsletters, updates, and marketing communication, if you have explicitly consented to receive them.
b) Paid facebook and instagram ads (Meta pixel)
Data collected: data gathered via tracking technologies such as the Meta (Facebook/Instagram) pixel (cookies, online identifiers, IP address, user activity, conversions).
Source: directly from your browser, the Meta advertising platform, and your interactions with our ads.
Purpose: measuring advertising performance, audience targeting, and remarketing.
These tracking tools require your prior consent according to Hungarian and EU cookie regulations.
c) Contact, Bookings, and Billing
Data collected: name, email address, phone number, billing details (if applicable).
Source: information provided by you during booking or correspondence.
Purpose: to provide the requested service, manage bookings, communicate with customers, and meet accounting obligations.
2. Legal basis for processing
We process personal data under the following lawful bases:
- Consent: for newsletter subscriptions and marketing/remarketing cookies (e.g. Facebook Pixel). Consent is voluntary, explicit, and can be withdrawn at any time.
- Contractual necessity: when processing is required to perform a service or fulfill a booking.
Legal obligation: for data required by accounting or tax law (e.g. invoicing).
Legitimate interest: for limited operational purposes such as fraud prevention or website security, provided that your interests are not overridden.
3. Data retention periods
We keep your personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described:
- Newsletter data: until you withdraw your consent or unsubscribe.
- Billing and financial data: for the period required by accounting and tax law.
- Marketing and analytics data: as long as your consent remains valid.
All retention periods are reviewed regularly to ensure compliance with data minimization principles.
4. Cookies and tracking technologies
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies for proper functionality, analytics, and marketing.
Non-essential cookies (marketing, analytics, remarketing) are placed only after your consent through our cookie banner.
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time by adjusting your cookie settings.
Third-party cookies such as Meta (Facebook/Instagram) Pixel or Google Analytics may involve data transfers outside the EU; in such cases, appropriate safeguards (e.g. Standard Contractual Clauses) are applied.
5. Data sharing and third parties
We may share your personal data with trusted data processors who assist in our operations, such as:
- Email service providers (e.g. Mailchimp, Sendinblue) for newsletter delivery.
- Advertising platforms (Meta / Facebook / Instagram).
- Payment or invoicing providers, if applicable.
Each processor acts on our behalf and under a written Data Processing Agreement (DPA).
Some providers (such as Meta) may transfer data to countries outside the EU (e.g. the USA). In such cases, we ensure that adequate data protection safeguards are in place.
6. Your rights under the GDPR

To exercise your rights, please contact us at info@darkskyadventures.hu.
We will respond within the time limits set by the GDPR (normally within 30 days).
7. Data security
We apply appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These include encryption, secure servers, access controls, and regular backups.
In the unlikely event of a personal data breach, we will notify the Hungarian National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (NAIH) within 72 hours, and affected individuals when required by law.
8. Profiling and automated decision-making
We do not use automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects on you.
Limited profiling may occur for advertising purposes (e.g. Meta audience targeting), but only with your consent and subject to your right to object.
